Less than 30 minutes from Central London, our third campus for our East 15 Acting School students in Loughton can be found just outside the hustle and bustle of the capital. On our Colchester and Southend campuses all full-time students are guaranteed accommodation on campus during their first year, and international students receive guaranteed accommodation on campus for the full length of their degree. We have a range of accommodation options to suit different needs, preferences, and budgets, all within walking distance of the academic departments and campus facilities.

I was looking for a research-led experience and that’s what attracted me to Essex. The Economics department’s degree structure has been designed to maximise flexibility in module choices, allowing me to choose from a wide range of modules and shaping my degree to suit my particular areas of interest. Moreover, the incredible feeling of community at Essex makes it impossible for anyone not to get involved! My participation in societies and volunteering really helped me to enhance my employability skills and enrich my time at Essex. My Essex experience indeed proved invaluable in securing my graduate role at United Overseas Bank (UOB) in Malaysia!

I particularly like the fact that the course covers a wide array of topics in telecommunications. As we are able to choose from a selection of optional courses, it is easy to tailor the course to my interests. The staff members in the Department are highly qualified and experienced in their area of research. They are extremely helpful and I have gained a great deal from their knowledge and experience. The course itself has given me good breadth of knowledge in the field of telecommunications and helped me to make an informed decision about my research area, enabling me to effectively carry out independent research in the future.
